Need A Campsite Near Mevagissey?
If you’re looking for a taste of authentic Cornwall, you can’t go wrong with Mevagissey, an historic fishing village nestled in a small valley, facing east to the bay.

This beautiful old town has a tradition of boat building stretching back to 1745. Its melodic sounding name is derived from the names of two saints: St Meva and St Issey, and the name was first mentioned in historic records of 1313.

This magical town has many narrow, winding alleyways; gift shops; unique art galleries, top quality restaurants and shops. You can also take an exciting fishing trip from the harbour and get a true taste of Cornish culture.

Mevagissey is also only 7 miles away from the Eden Project and 5 miles from St Austell, which has some truly stunning coast lines; so much so, it’s known as the ‘Cornish Riviera’. St Austell Bay is made up of sweeping golden beaches and is unsurprisingly a popular place for water sports. It also has a working fishing harbour and the majestic looking Caerhays Castle, overlooking the bay. Fitting in with the natural beauty of the surroundings, this is an excellent place to explore and experience the romance of Cornwall.
