One Of The Best Dog-Friendly Campsites Near Mevagissey

Did you know that the Lost Gardens of Heligan are located just outside Mevagissey?

This village is also a fascinating place in its own right. It has a long fishing heritage and was historically a bustling fishing port. While the industry has declined over the past few years, it’s still a part of the local economy.

With narrow winding streets that are quintessentially Cornish, you’ll walk streets with colourful houses and find plenty of charming scenes. At its heart is a picturesque harbour where you can watch the fishing boats coming in and out. There’s also chances to go on boat trips and fishing adventures.

Our campsite in Gorran Haven is only a short drive from Mevagissey and its surrounding family-friendly attractions.

That includes The Lost Gardens of Heligan, one of Cornwall’s most famous attractions, which were rediscovered in the 1990s and have been beautifully restored.

Also close to Mevagissey is the South West Coast Path, one of the UK’s longest and most scenic hiking trails, passes through Mevagissey. It offers stunning views of the coastline and surrounding countryside. This area has often been used as a filming location including for Doc Martin.

When does your campsite close for the season?

Although our campsite is closing on 30th September, now is a great time to make a booking for spring 2024. We reopen on the 1st May 2024.
